Bradfield City seeks Western Sydney arts and culture experts to join Advisory Panel

A unique opportunity to shape the character and identity of Australia’s first city in 100 years is now open, with experienced arts and culture practitioners invited to register their interest to join the Bradfield City Arts and Culture Advisory Panel.

The Bradfield Development Authority is now expanding its membership and is seeking three additional experts who live or work in Western Sydney for a three-year term.

Their advice supports the creation of inclusive, culturally safe places and strengthens connections between Bradfield City and the Western Sydney arts and cultural sector for the local community.

Practitioners with more than 10 years’ experience and strong professional connections to Western Sydney are sought to join the Advisory Panel, with expertise in one or more of the following areas:

  • public art commissions, as an artist and or curator
  • civic spaces and cultural infrastructure projects
  • management or leadership of cultural institutions or advocacy groups
  • large scale festivals and events for communities
  • community and public programming.

To date, the Advisory Panel has contributed advice across a wide range of major initiatives in Bradfield City, including the Art Strategy, public art commissions for Central Park, events in the First Building and upcoming temporary activations to draw in the community.  As Bradfield City continues to take shape, the Advisory Panel will support the delivery of a vibrant, inclusive and distinctly Western Sydney city.

Bradfield Development Authority CEO Ken Morrison says “Bradfield City is being built as a complete city from day one, and that means integrating arts and culture into how people experience the city as it grows.

“The Advisory Panel brings combined decades of practical expertise that helps guide major projects, public spaces and programming, ensuring we are delivering places that people will value and use over time.”
