Built for what’s next: Bradfield City open for business

Australia’s first new city in 100 years is officially open for business, with the launch of the Bradfield City ‘Built for what’s next’ campaign.

The campaign highlights how Bradfield City is open for business, with a new wave of commercial opportunities announced for businesses ready to take advantage of a city being built for what’s next in industry and innovation.

High growth, future focused sectors aligned with Western Sydney’s strengths and Australia’s national priorities will underpin Bradfield City’s economy, anchored by the NSW Government’s Advanced Manufacturing Readiness Facility (AMRF). Priority sectors include aerospace, cleantech, modern construction, defence, education and research, freight and logistics, advanced manufacturing, semiconductors and critical technologies, and the circular economy.

Three immediate opportunities are available for businesses and organisations seeking to establish a landmark early presence in Bradfield City. Two of these opportunities are presented by leading developer Plenary, appointed as the development partner for Bradfield City’s first land release in December 2025.

Opportunities open now or in coming weeks include:

  • An Expression of Interest for occupants in the Enterprise Precinct adjacent to the AMRF Precinct, providing early access to flexible, purpose built spaces ahead of a broader land release later in the year. This is suited to scalable, innovation led businesses that value proximity to the airport, global supply chains and specialist advanced manufacturing infrastructure.
  • An Expression of Interest for an anchor university presence in the first land release University Precinct being delivered by Plenary, aimed at institutions with a strong focus on industry integrated education, research commercialisation and workforce development. This presence will play a critical role in building the skills pipeline and R&D capabilities required to grow priority industries in Bradfield City and across Western Sydney.
  • An Expression of Interest for commercial spaces within the first land release’s City Precinct being delivered by Plenary, targeting businesses that benefit from co location with research, government and industry partners and a prime city centre location. This includes corporate headquarters, innovation hubs, professional services firms, and technology driven enterprises seeking to embed themselves in the city from its earliest stages.

Further opportunities will come to market later this year, strengthening Bradfield City’s role as a national hub for advanced manufacturing and sovereign capability. These include tenancies in the Second Building, co located with the AMRF and Australia’s first commercial semiconductor advanced packaging facility, as well as an international search for a Principal Semiconductor Partner to operate that facility.

As part of the NSW Government’s commitment to delivering Bradfield City at pace, all development within the city’s master plan footprint will be assessed through dedicated streamlined state led planning pathways, providing greater certainty and reducing risk for businesses.
