First established in November 2022, the inaugural Koori Perspectives Circle brought together respected Aboriginal community members who shared valuable cultural insight to inform the early planning of Bradfield and ensure First Nations knowledge and values are embedded in the new city.
Building on this strong foundation, the Koori Perspectives Circle is now evolving to include more voices, with a focus on diverse representation across gender, age and lived experience, providing a culturally safe space for recognised and aspiring First Nations leaders to contribute to the development of Bradfield City.
The forum is designed to listen to the diverse perspectives of Aboriginal people who have developed strong contemporary connections to the region. It acknowledges the rights and responsibilities of descendants of Traditional Custodians to speak for and care for Country, while also recognising many First Nations families have built deep connections to this area over generations, where their ancestral Country lies elsewhere.
Members will be invited to share cultural perspectives on topics central to Bradfield City’s future, including designing with Country, climate resilience, cultural heritage, business development, education and youth engagement, and tourism.
Applicants should be actively involved in First Nations communities as Elders, leaders, or emerging leaders, and engaged in advancing cultural, social, educational, employment or business outcomes for First Nations people.
Alongside the Authority’s partnering agreement with Gandangara Local Aboriginal Land Council, the Koori Perspectives Circle is part of the BDA’s strong commitment to make Bradfield a place where industry, education, and First Nations communities come together to build a stronger future.
Expressions of Interest for the Koori Perspectives Circle are open until 11 November 2025 on the Bradfield Development Authority website.

Expressions of Interest (EOIs) are being invited from First Nations people across Western Sydney to help shape the future of Bradfield City by joining the Bradfield Development Authority’s (BDA) Koori Perspectives Circle (KPC).
